Synaesthesia:

The process of Synaesthesia, involves listening to the music alone and imaging and thinking about what comes to mind when you hear the music. During synaesthesia, there is room for interpretation however there are items that are socially coded. For example the lyrics of the song could indicate a specific mood, which is evident from the lexical choice. Furthermore certain objects used in a music video may also have specific connotations. Andrew Goodwin theorised the process of ‘Synaesthesia’ which he states is when people visually ‘see’ images to go with the music. I used the process of synaesthesia as a starting point for my music video to firstly begin to visually what I imagined matching the song.
